Systane Balance are nourishing eye drops used for dry, watery eyes due to lipid deficiency. The combination of HP-Guar (hydroxypropyl-Guar) and the LipiTech™ system relieves the discomfort of dry eyes that many people suffer from. Systane Balance soothes the eye and forms a protective layer that protects the natural tear film from evaporating. Excessive watering can also be a side effect, as can the bothersome feeling of having a foreign body in the eye.
Eye drops for watery eyes
The LipiTech™ system of Systane Balance Eye Drops strengthens the lipid layer of the tear film, thus reducing burning and watering of the eyes. The lipid layer is the outermost layer of tear fluid, which is often underdeveloped in dry eyes and causes the tear film to evaporate too quickly. A rapidly evaporating tear film dries out and irritates the eye; the eye then begins to tear up. Systane Balance with the LipiTech™ system helps to keep the tear film stable and soothes the eye.
Soothed eyes with fewer eye drops
Eye drops are a relief, but the effect wears off quickly. In Systane Balance Eye Drops, HP-Guar (hydroxypropyl-Guar) is used as a tear substitute because of the high viscosity it exhibits. The higher the viscosity, the smoother and thicker the eye drops are, and the longer the effect lasts - the frequency of reapplication is reduced with Systane Balance.
